Truffles N Bacon Cafe

Truffles N Bacon… This small restaurant has really good food! I haven’t tried everything on their menu … yet but so far I have not eaten anything I didn’t like (or couldn’t finish). Their portion size is also big! When I mean big, I mean, there’s only maybe a quarter inch from food to edge of plate. That means there’s only enough space for the server to place part of their thumb on the top of the plate and four fingers under to hold the plate while serving.

Anyway, I digress.. BACK TO WAFFLES! Truffles N Bacon doesn’t just serve typical buttermilk waffles. They are well known for Ube waffles! Never heard of Ube (pronounced: ooh-beh)? Ube is a purple yam originally from the Phillipines. As a kid, I was always turned off by Ube because it was purple and thought it would taste funny. But now, as an adult, I enjoy it.

Recently, we ordered a side of their Ube waffles along with our main entrees. We definitely had to take some food home for later because this time, we just couldn’t finish every thing. It was all so filling and yummy!

BTW! I heard today is NATIONAL WAFFLE DAY?!

Another specialty waffle featured on their menu is called Tutti Fruiti. I was attracted to this waffle because it has Fruity Pebbles cereal on it! Mind you, I haven’t eaten Fruity Pebbles since I was a kid so I was eager to try this one. I admit, this isn’t the best picture I took but the quality of this waffle was off the charts! Also, I ordered this one to-go so that’s why it isn’t plated.

Have you ever had Pandan waffles? No? Well, you need to try the Tutti Fruiti and guess what?! They put BACON IN THE WAFFLE! Yes!!! I said it!! BACON!! That was a nice surprise bite because I think I might’ve bypassed that part on the menu. Definitely can’t complain about bacon though.
