D E Thai

Let’s talk Thai … food! All Thai restaurants should have Pad Thai, Drunken Noodle (Pad Kee Mow), Pad See Ew, and curries on their menu! If they don’t, run? JK! Try them out!

Every popular Thai entree should taste quite similar to the other restaurants. However, in my opinion, if you’ve eaten enough Thai food, like me, you will definitely differentiate each restaurant’s cooking. I am happy to say that D E Thai Kitchen stands out!

D E Thai Kitchen is located in Las Vegas’ Art District area. I’ve always drove past the restaurant but never got the chance to try them until recently. I was attending a school a block away so it was within walking distance for lunch.

They have paintings done by a local Thai artist. This artist is actually my friend’s brother! So cool, right?!

It’s a very small restaurant that can host about 4 small groups inside. That’s about 2-4 people per group. There is usually just 1 server so be patient! Food does come out quickly but if you’re in a time crunch, call in your order and pick it up!

D E Thai has a not so secret menu that features entrees you wouldn’t typically find in every Thai restaurant. That menu is on their wall. I ordered their “Khua Kling” which is ground pork mixed with lots of different herbs and spices. This entree is suppose to be spicy which starts at a “medium” level, so I wouldn’t recommend someone to try this if they can’t handle any spice!! It is served with a bowl of steam rice and some cucumbers which helps to combat the spiciness.

Khua Kling: A Spicy Surprise

Khua Kling

Khua Kling is really hard to find in other Thai restaurants. If they have it on their menu, I would order it! There is only 1 other Thai restaurant in Las Vegas (that I’ve tried) that has this on their menu. I’ll feature that restaurant in a future post.

Dining out during Covid season is challenging. D E Thai has 2 tables available inside and 1 table outside which adheres to Covid-19 restaurant standards. The weather in Las Vegas is slowly getting cooler so eating outside wouldn’t be such a bad idea.
